David Alleyne, also known as Prodigy, is a character from Marvel Comics. He first appeared in New Mutants Vol. 2 #4 (November 2003).
Prodigy is a mutant with the ability to temporarily acquire the skills and knowledge of those around him through telepathic absorption. This ability manifests by gaining an understanding of the skills needed to complete a task or skill, however the abilities disappear over time.
He was a student at the Xavier Institute and a member of the New X-Men squad. After M-Day, he was one of the many mutants to lose his powers. However, he retained the knowledge he had absorbed throughout his time as a mutant, making him incredibly intelligent and skilled in a wide range of fields.
